The origin

It started with 60 people in Kyiv.

811 began eight years ago as my birthday gathering in the historic centre of Kyiv. During that first night, one of the guests wished that the party would one day grow into a full international festival.

“One day, this will become an international festival.”

At the time, it sounded ambitious. Year after year, that wish slowly became real. Every edition grew in scale, preparation, production quality, creative ambition and international reach.

In 2026, 811 enters its biggest chapter yet: a festival-scale experience for up to 1,000 people in Amsterdam. It is still my birthday, still rooted in friendship, creative freedom and the people who helped it grow.

The first night

The idea begins to travel

The circle grows. Friends arrive from new cities and countries, while the preparation, production and creative ambition become more serious.

A new home

811 moves to Amsterdam

The event keeps its personal roots while becoming a meeting point for musicians, artists, founders, technologists and creative people.

Recycle Lounge Gallery Club

An Amsterdam edition built around music, community, a fashion pop-up, fire and a venue approaching redevelopment.

Der Hintergarten

An eclectic birthday gathering with food, music, games, side quests, partner activations and an afterparty during the location's final season.

2026

The festival chapter

811 grows into its most ambitious format yet - a full cultural experience in Amsterdam for up to 1,000 people.

A strange tradition

For the last two editions, 811 has somehow become part of a venue’s final chapter. After we celebrate there, the place closes and is eventually demolished. Each edition gives us a rare chance to touch something legendary and unrepeatable - to become part of a place’s history before it disappears. One night becomes a memory that stays with people forever.

The evolving concept

More than a party.

The next 811 can begin earlier with live music, art, food and an open daytime atmosphere. As evening arrives, it transforms into a full electronic music experience across multiple stages. The final program is still being developed.

Our purpose

A stage for people who need one.

We support Ukrainian and local DJs, musicians, visual artists, performers, designers and independent creators while staying open to international talent. The goal is not only to book people, but to create the conditions in which they can experiment, collaborate and reach a new audience.
